Grow in Christ

Knowing Jesus and modeling our lives after Him.

Because of God’s love for us, He sent Jesus to rescue us from sin and to reconnect us to God.  We believe the Jesus shown in Scripture is the clearest image of God’s character.  As we pattern our lives after Jesus, we find meaning for ourselves and reveal God to others.

Here are some ways you can grow in Christ at Journey:

Sunday Morning Sermon Series

Instead of following a generic lectionary for sermons, our pastors and people from our congregation meet yearly to brainstorm what’s important for us to hear as a family of believers. After much prayer, discussion and tossing out of wild and crazy ideas, they come up with a plan to help us “Grow in Christ”. Join us on Sunday mornings for a not-your-average-sermon.

From interactive Sunday School to high-energy KIDJam, from Bible Memory to Vacation Bible School – children ages 3 through 5th grade are encouraged to “grow” in a number of ways.

Studies show that when young adults leave for college, up to 70% of them may not attend church while there. Our goal is to encourage students  to have a passionate relationship with Jesus, a thirst for understanding God’s Word, and servant’s heart. We believe that these things will follow them into adulthood and anchor them in their faith. Grow is an important part of our student small groups.
